Single-core PTFE wire HELUFLON®-PTFE-5Y 1xAWG18/19 (0.95 mm²) brown, 600 V 25234
Highly durable PTFE cable for extreme conditions
This brown HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.E cable with a cross-section of 0.95 mm² is a specialized solution for applications requiring high thermal and chemical resistance. Made with a silver-plated copper core and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, it ensures reliable operation even in the most demanding industrial conditions. The cable is also characterized by high flexibility, making it easy to install and route. Approximate outer diameter is 1.94 mm.
Construction and properties
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is designed for extreme operating conditions. Its construction is based on a silver-plated copper core, which provides excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. PTFE insulation guarantees resistance to high temperatures (up to +260°C, briefly +300°C) and aggressive chemicals such as acids, alkalis, solvents, oils and gasoline. In addition, this material is flame retardant and resistant to microorganisms and fungal growth. PTFE meets MIL-W 16878 standard.
This cable also stands out for:
- High insulation resistance – minimum insulation resistance is 1 GOhm x km.
- Low electrical losses – which translates to energy efficiency of the installation.
- Radiation resistance – up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
- Minimum bending radius – 10 x cable diameter, making it easy to install in tight spaces.
- Complete resistance to ozone and atmospheric conditions – guaranteeing long-term reliability in various environments.
- Low water absorption - below 0.01%.
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is widely used in installations and construction of switchgear cabinets operating in extreme thermal conditions, such as furnaces, brickworks or kitchen appliances. It is ideal for the chemical industry due to its resistance to aggressive chemicals. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The operating voltage of the cable is 600V, and the test voltage is 3.4kV. Bare, tinned or nickel-plated cores are also available on request. To order the cable in a color other than brown, add the appropriate symbol to the catalog number: 1 = black, 2 = red, 3 = blue, 5 = white, 6 = transparent, 7 = two-color or 8 = other colors.
