This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is a reliable solution for installations requiring resistance to high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and harsh environmental conditions. It is ideal for furnaces, brickworks, kitchen appliances, as well as in the chemical industry, where it is exposed to flames, acids, bases, solvents, oils, and gasoline. This cable is also an excellent choice for building switchgear cabinets operating at extreme temperatures.

Construction and material properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction. Its copper core is silver-plated for better conductivity and corrosion resistance. PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation provides exceptional temperature resistance (-190°C to +260°C, briefly up to +300°C) and excellent dielectric properties. Additionally, PTFE guarantees resistance to radiation, microorganisms and fungi, as well as minimal water permeability. The materials used in production are silicone-free, cadmium-free and do not contain substances that interfere with painting. The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878.

Application and electrical parameters

The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is designed to operate at a voltage of 600V (type E) or 1000V (type EE). It has a high insulation resistance (min. 1 GOhm x km) and has been subjected to voltage tests (3.4kV type E and 5kV type EE). The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. Thanks to its properties, this cable ensures safe and reliable electrical connections even in the most demanding applications. It is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant – tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1.

The cable is available in various colors: black (1), red (2), blue (3), brown (4), white (5), transparent (6), two-color (7) and other colors (8). To order the cable in a specific color, please add the appropriate symbol to the product catalog number. The core can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated on request.
