High-temperature wire HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y – reliability in extreme conditions
This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y wire is designed for applications requiring exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals, and environmental conditions. Made with a silver-plated copper core and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, it ensures reliable operation even in the most demanding installations. This wire is ideal for both professional installers and end-users looking for a durable and safe solution.
Construction and properties
The wire is characterized by a solid construction, ensuring long-term operation. The silver-plated copper core guarantees good conductivity, and the PTFE insulation provides excellent dielectric properties and resistance to high temperatures – from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C). Additionally, PTFE exhibits exceptional chemical resistance, making it an ideal choice for working in aggressive environments, such as the chemical industry.
- Exceptional thermal resistance: The wire retains its properties over a wide temperature range, allowing its use in furnaces, brickworks, and kitchen appliances.
- Chemical resistance: PTFE is resistant to acids, bases, solvents, oils, and gasoline.
- High insulation: PTFE provides minimal electrical losses and high insulation resistance (min. 1 GOhm x km).
- Safety: Self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material, meeting the standards DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, and IEC 60332-1.
- Durability: Resistant to UV radiation and the development of microorganisms and fungi.
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y wire finds wide application in industrial installations, construction of switchgear cabinets, and wherever high resistance to temperature and chemicals is required. It is an ideal choice for:
- Installations in furnaces and heating devices
- Chemical industry
- Switchgear cabinets operating in harsh conditions
- Kitchen and measuring devices
The wire meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and standards DIN VDE 0881 and IEC 60673. The rated voltage U0/U is 600 V, and the core cross-section is 0.57 mm² (AWG 20/7). The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. Available in blue color.
