HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y Cable – Reliability in Extreme Conditions
This specialized single-core cable with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) fluoropolymer insulation is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cables fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and radiation. Ideal for both industrial applications and electrical installations exposed to extreme conditions.
Construction and Properties
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable features a carefully crafted construction. The copper core, silver-plated for better conductivity and corrosion resistance, is surrounded by high-quality PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation, meeting DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878 standards. This combination ensures not only excellent electrical parameters but also long-term reliability even in the most demanding applications. Additionally, the materials used in production are silicone-free, cadmium-free, and do not interfere with painting.
- Wide operating temperature range: from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C), allowing its use in extremely cold and hot environments.
- High chemical resistance: does not react to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and gasoline – ideal for the chemical industry and laboratories.
- Low electrical losses: minimize energy losses and improve the energy efficiency of installations.
- Non-flammability: self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material, tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, and IEC 60332-1 standards.
- Radiation resistance: withstands exposure to radiation up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
- Minimal water absorption: ensures stable electrical parameters even in humid environments.

The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter, making installation easy even in tight spaces. Available cable colors (white – standard) allow for easy identification of cores in the installation – other colors available on request (black - 1, red - 2, blue - 3, brown - 4, white - 5, transparent - 6, two-color -7 , other colors -8). The core can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated on request. The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
