Single-core PTFE wire HELUFLON®-PTFE-5Y 1xAWG22/7 (0.35 mm²) white, 1000 V 25385
Highly durable cable for extreme conditions.
This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable, made with fluoropolymer PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, is designed for operation in demanding environments. It is suitable for both industrial installations and the construction of switchgear cabinets exposed to high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, or radiation. Its reliability and resistance to external factors make it an ideal choice for professionals and users looking for a durable solution.
Construction and properties ensuring safety
The cable features a silver-plated copper core, ensuring excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. The PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation meets DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878 standards, guaranteeing high quality and safety. Additionally, the materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium, and substances that interfere with painting. The cable is flame retardant, resistant to microorganisms and fungal growth, and completely resistant to ozone and atmospheric conditions. Water absorption is minimal – below 0.01%, and water permeability is approximately 0.18 mg/cm2 over 24 hours. The self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material has passed tests according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1.
Technical parameters and scope of application
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is available in E (600V) and EE (1000V) operating voltages, with test voltages of 3.4kV and 5kV respectively. Insulation resistance is at least 1GOhm x km. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. The cable retains its properties over a wide temperature range – from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C). The operating temperature range of the core depends on the material: plain copper (+130°C), tinned copper (+180°C), silver-plated copper (+200°C) and nickel-plated copper (+260°C). It is also resistant to radiation up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
The cable is widely used in installations operating in extreme thermal conditions – e.g. in furnaces, brickworks, kitchen and measuring devices. It is also ideal for the chemical industry due to its resistance to flames, acids, alkalis, solvents, oils and gasoline. Available core colors: black (1), red (2), blue (3), brown (4), white (5), transparent (6), two-color (7) and other colors (8). The core can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated on request. The product has a certificate of conformity with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE).
