PTFE wire for extreme conditions

This high-quality single-core wire with fluoropolymer PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation is designed for operation in demanding environments. It features exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation, making it an ideal choice for industrial applications, switchgear cabinets and equipment operating in extreme conditions.

Construction and properties

The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.E. wire has a silver-plated copper core, providing good conductivity and corrosion resistance. The PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation meets DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878 standards, guaranteeing high reliability and safety. This material provides excellent dielectric properties and minimal electrical losses.

Additional advantages of this wire include:

• Exceptional thermal resistance: operating temperature range from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C).

• Chemical resistance: does not react with most acids, bases, solvents, oils and gasoline.

• Low flammability: self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material, meeting DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 standards.

• Biological resistance: prevents the development of fungi and is resistant to microorganisms.

• Low water absorption: ensures stable electrical parameters even in humid environments.

• No harmful substances: materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting.

Technical parameters and applications

This wire is intended for installation in places exposed to high temperatures, aggressive chemicals or difficult atmospheric conditions - e.g. in furnaces, brickworks, kitchen appliances, chemical laboratories or in the food industry. The rated voltage U/U0 is 600/600 V and the core cross-section is 0.24 mm². The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter, making installation easier even in tight spaces. The insulation resistance is min. 1 GOhm x km, guaranteeing safe use.
