This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is a reliable solution for installations requiring resistance to high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and harsh environmental conditions. Made with a silver-plated copper core and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, this cable ensures long-lasting and safe operation in demanding industrial applications.

Application and construction

The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is widely used in switchboard installations, furnaces, brickworks, kitchen appliances, measuring devices, and the chemical industry. Its exceptional resistance to flames, acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and gasoline makes it an ideal choice where standard cables fail. The cable construction is based on:

• silver-plated copper core – provides excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance.
• PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation – guarantees high thermal and chemical resistance in accordance with DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878.

Parameters and user properties

The cable is characterized by a wide operating temperature range from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C) and a typical operating voltage of 600V or 1000V (depending on the type). Its insulation resistance is a minimum of 1 GOhm x km, ensuring effective protection against short circuits and leakage currents. Additionally:

• minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter – facilitates installation even in tight spaces.
• radiation resistance up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad) – allows use in environments exposed to ionizing radiation.
• materials used in production are silicone-free, cadmium-free, and do not contain substances that interfere with painting – increases safety and minimizes environmental impact.
• the cable is flame-retardant, self-extinguishing and has certificates of conformity with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1.

Available cable colors are indicated by the following symbols: 1 - black, 2 - red, 3 - blue, 4 - brown, 5 - white, 6 - transparent, 7 - bicolor, and 8 - other colors (please add the symbol to the catalog number). The core can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated on request.
