Robust PTFE cable for extreme conditions
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is a specialized single-core cable with fluoropolymer PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, designed for operation in demanding environments. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation, making it an ideal choice for industrial, laboratory and any applications where standard cables fail. This cable complies with DIN VDE 0881 and IEC 60673 standards.
Construction and properties
The cable construction is based on silver-plated copper conductors, which ensures excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. The PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation guarantees reliable protection against high temperatures (up to +260°C, briefly up to +300°C) and aggressive chemicals – acids, bases, solvents and oils. Additionally, this material is flame retardant, resistant to microorganisms and fungal growth, and is characterized by minimal water absorption and permeability. This cable is completely resistant to ozone and weathering.

Applications and installation
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is widely used in installations and construction of control panel enclosures operating in extreme thermal conditions – e.g. in furnaces, brickworks or kitchen appliances. It will also be useful in the chemical industry as a flame-resistant cable and for various chemical substances. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces. Various cable colors are available – black (marked with symbol 1), red (2), blue (3), brown (4), white (5), transparent (6), two-color (7) and other colors (8) – the appropriate symbol should be added to the catalog number when placing an order. The conductor can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated. The cable is designed to operate at a voltage of 600V or 1000V depending on type E or EE, and its dielectric strength is 3.4kV or 5kV respectively.
