Highly durable cable for extreme conditions

This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.EE cable, made with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) fluoropolymer insulation, is designed to operate in demanding environments. It features exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation, making it an ideal choice for industrial applications, switchgear cabinets and equipment operating in extreme conditions. This cable is particularly valued in installations exposed to high temperatures – from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C) – as well as in the chemical industry, where contact with aggressive substances is unavoidable.

Construction and properties

The cable is constructed with a silver-plated copper core, ensuring good conductivity and corrosion resistance. The PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation meets DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878 standards, guaranteeing high quality and reliability. Additionally, this cable stands out with a number of properties that translate into its durability and safety:

• High insulation resistance: minimum insulation resistance is 1 GOhm x km, providing effective protection against short circuits and leakage currents.
• Low electrical losses: PTFE minimizes energy losses during current transmission.
• Non-flammability: self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material, tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 standards.
• Chemical resistance: complete resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils and gasoline.
• Biological resistance: prevents the development of fungi and is resistant to microorganisms.
• Atmospheric resistance: complete resistance to weathering and ozone.
• Low water absorption: water absorption below 0.01%, ensuring stable electrical parameters even in a humid environment.

The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
