HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is a specialized solution for applications requiring exceptional resistance to external factors. It is ideal for installations and construction of switchboard cabinets operating in harsh conditions, such as furnaces, brick factories, kitchen appliances or measuring devices. Its properties make it indispensable in the chemical industry, where it is exposed to flames, acids, bases, solvents, oils and gasoline. The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE).

Construction and insulation properties

The key to the exceptional parameters of HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y is the use of a silver-plated copper core and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation – a material with exceptional chemical and thermal resistance. PTFE meets the standards DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878. PTFE insulation provides high temperature resistance – from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C). Additionally, the cable is characterized by high insulation resistance (min. 1 GOhm x km) and minimal water permeability. The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances that interfere with painting.

Applications and operating parameters

The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is perfect for applications requiring reliability and safety. Its resistance to radiation (up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg) and lack of water absorption make it an ideal choice for aggressive environments. The operating voltage of the cable is 600V (type E) or 1000V (type EE), and the test voltage is 3.4kV or 5kV, respectively. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. It is possible to order a bare, tinned or nickel-plated core on request. The cable color can be specified by adding a symbol to the catalog number: 1 – black, 2 – red, 3 – blue, 4 – brown, 5 – white, 6 – transparent, 7 – two-color, 8 – other colors.
