PTFE cable for extreme conditions – reliable insulation and resistance
This high-quality HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.EE cable, designed for operation in harsh conditions, stands out with its exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation. It is ideally suited for both industrial installations and the construction of switchgear cabinets, where reliability and safety are required. This cable finds application in furnaces, brickworks, kitchen appliances, measuring devices and in the chemical industry, where it is exposed to aggressive substances.
Construction and material properties for long-term operation
The cable construction is based on silver-plated copper conductors, providing excellent electrical conductivity. Insulation made of PTFE-HELUFLON® (polytetrafluoroethylene) guarantees exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures – from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C). PTFE is a material with low permeability to water and gases, which further increases the durability of the cable. Additionally, the material is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant, meeting the standards DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1.
The cable is also characterized by high radiation resistance (up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg), making it an ideal solution in applications exposed to ionizing radiation. The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances that interfere with painting. This makes the cable environmentally friendly and ensures long-term reliability.
Technical parameters and compliance with standards
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is available in a version with insulation of type E (600V) or EE (1000V) operating voltage, and the test voltage is 3.4kV or 5kV respectively. Insulation resistance is at least 1GOhm x km. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The cable is manufactured in accordance with DIN VDE 0881 and IEC 60673 standards. Bare, tinned or nickel-plated conductors can be ordered on request. Available colors: black (1), red (2), blue (3), brown (4), white (5), transparent (6), two-color (7) and other colors on request.
