HELFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is a specialized single-core cable designed for operation in extreme conditions. It is characterized by high resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation, making it an ideal solution in demanding industrial applications. Made of silver-plated copper and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, it ensures reliable and long-lasting operation.

Construction and properties

The conductive core is made of silver-plated copper, which improves its conductivity and corrosion resistance. The PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation meets DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878 standards. PTFE is a material with exceptional dielectric and thermal properties – it provides high resistance to breakdown, minimal electrical losses and the ability to operate in a wide temperature range, from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C). This cable is also resistant to ozone, microorganisms, fungi and chemical substances such as acids, alkalis, solvents, oils and gasoline. Additionally, it does not contain silicone or cadmium, which affects its safety and environmental friendliness.

Applications

The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is primarily used in installations and construction of switchboard cabinets operating in difficult thermal conditions – e.g. in furnaces, brickworks or kitchen appliances. It also works perfectly in the chemical industry due to its resistance to aggressive chemicals. Thanks to its properties, it can be used in measuring devices and wherever high reliability and safety of electrical connections are required. The rated voltage of this cable is 600 V, and the core cross-section is 0.03 mm². The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 0.9 mm.

This cable complies with the guidelines of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). Various cable colors are available – black (1), red (2), blue (3), brown (4), white (5), transparent (6), two-color (7) and other colors (8) – just add the appropriate symbol to the catalog number when placing an order. The core can also be supplied bare, tinned or nickel-plated on request.
