Universal installation cable for various applications

This single-core PVC cable, designated as H07V2-K 2.5/AWG14, is a versatile solution for internal electrical installations. It is suitable for both residential and industrial buildings. Its construction and approvals allow for a wide range of applications – from switchboard wiring to connections in machine tools.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a flexible, stranded copper conductor of class 5, which facilitates installation and provides good resistance to bending. The PVC insulation provides good mechanical and electrical protection. The cable is designed to operate at a rated voltage of 450/750 V. Its outer diameter is approximately 3.8 mm with a conductor cross-section of 2.5 mm². It is manufactured in accordance with many standards: DIN VDE 0285-525-2-31, DIN EN 50525-2-31, UL-Std.1063/UL-Style 10269 (and Style 1015) as well as CSA-TEW and CSA-AWM I A/B – which confirms its high quality and safety of use.

Applications and benefits

This cable is ideal for installations made in pipes, on and under plaster, and in closed cable ducts. The HAR, UL-AWM, UL-MTW, CSA-AWM and CSA-Equipment-wire approvals simplify the bill of materials and allow for economical inventory management. In addition, the materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances that interfere with painting – which is important in many industrial applications. The cable is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant (tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 DIN EN 60332-1-2/IEC 60332-1), which increases the safety of the installation. The insulation resistance is minimum 10 MOhm x km and the test voltage is 2500 V. The minimum bending radius is 12.5 to 15 x cable diameter.
