Single-core PVC wire UL/CSA – reliability and versatility of applications
This single-core wire with PVC insulation, approved by UL AWM Style 1015/MTW and CSA-AWM/TEW, is an ideal solution for internal wiring of various devices and installations. It will work well in control cabinets, as well as inside household appliances or audio-video equipment. Its flexibility and resistance to external factors make it a universal choice for professionals and demanding users.
Construction and properties
The wire is characterized by a copper core, which may be tinned or untinned, ensuring good electrical conductivity. High-quality PVC insulation guarantees safe use and resistance to mechanical damage, oils, solvents, acids and alkalis. A special PVC formulation also ensures self-extinguishing and flame retardancy, confirmed by UL VW-1 and CSA FT1 tests. This means the wire meets stringent safety standards.
Designed to operate at temperatures from -5°C to +105°C (flexible) and -30°C to +105°C (stationary), the wire retains its properties over a wide range of environmental conditions. The maximum conductor temperature is +105°C according to UL and CSA standards. The rated voltage U0/U is 600V, and the breakdown voltage depends on the core cross-section – for AWG 20 it is 5kV. The minimum bending radius is 5x the outer diameter for single bending and 10x the outer diameter for multiple bending, making installation easier even in tight spaces.
Applications
This wire is widely used as:
- Connecting wire in machines and control devices.
- Connection wire for motors and transformers.
- Internal wiring element of control cabinets.
- Wire for wiring household appliances and audio-video equipment.
- Wire for installation in insulated pipes (also flexible).
Thanks to UL AWM (Appliance Wiring Material) and UL-MTW (Machine Tool Wires) and CSA-TEW (Equipment/Lead Wires) certifications, the wire meets safety and quality requirements in various industrial and commercial applications. It is a universal product that will find application in both new installations and in the modernization of existing electrical systems. The core cross-section of 0.52 mm² (AWG 20) and the outer diameter of 2.7 mm allow for convenient installation and aesthetic cable routing.
