Robust single-core cable for extreme conditions
This high-quality HELUFLON single-core cable, with a cross-section of 16 mm², is designed for applications requiring reliability and resistance to harsh conditions. The cable features a flexible, stranded wire construction and FEP fluoropolymer insulation, ensuring exceptional durability and safety. Silver-plated conductors increase conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction: stranded copper conductor, twisted according to VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 class 5 standards, surrounded by FEP-HELUFLON® insulation. This construction guarantees high flexibility and long-term operation. Additionally, the cable has a number of important properties:
- High temperature resistance – up to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C).
- Low temperature resistance – down to -100°C.
- High radiation resistance – up to 1 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
- Low dielectric losses.
- Non-flammability and self-extinguishing insulation (compliant with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1).
- Chemical resistance – alkalis, acids, food, oils and gasoline.
- Waterproof – minimal water permeability.
- Silicone and cadmium free.
Applications
The HELUFLON cable is widely used in industrial installations and in places exposed to extreme conditions:
- Installations in furnaces, brickworks and heating equipment.
- Kitchen and measuring devices.
- Chemical industry – as a cable resistant to aggressive chemicals.
- Construction of switchgear cabinets in difficult environmental conditions.
- Where high temperature and chemical resistance are required.
The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter for flexible bending and 4 x cable diameter for stationary bending. The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 7 mm. The rated voltage U0/U is 600 V and the insulation resistance is minimum 2 GOhm/km.
