Special application silicone cable
This flexible, single-core silicone cable is designed to operate in extreme temperature conditions. It features high heat resistance, both in stationary and dynamic applications. It is an ideal solution where standard cables fail – in the metallurgical, foundry, aerospace, shipbuilding, cement and ceramic industries. The halogen-free construction also makes this cable suitable for use in power plants, where fire safety is a priority.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of a flexible, multi-strand copper conductor class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228), which provides it with high flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue. Silicone insulation guarantees the retention of properties in a wide temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C (flexibly from -25°C). The cable is designed for voltages of 300/500 V and has passed tests confirming its compliance with safety standards (IEC 60332-1-2). In addition, the insulating material is resistant to many chemical substances, such as oils, greases, acids and alkalis.
Applications and benefits
The SiF 1x0.5mm² cable is not only highly temperature resistant. Its halogen-free construction minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire. This makes it a safe choice for installations in public and industrial places. The conductor cross-section of 0.5 mm² and the outer diameter of approximately 2.3 mm make this cable suitable for powering devices with low power consumption in difficult environmental conditions. The flexibility of the conductor facilitates installation and routing of cables in tight spaces. The minimum bending radius is 6x the cable diameter for fixed laying and 15x the diameter for flexible operation.
