Special application silicone cable
This flexible, single-core silicone cable is designed to operate in extreme temperature conditions. It features high heat resistance and is ideal where standard cabling fails. This cable finds wide application in demanding industries such as metallurgy, steelworks, aerospace, shipyards, cement and ceramic industries, as well as in power plants. The halogen-free construction further increases safety.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of a multi-strand copper conductor class 5, which provides exceptional flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue. Silicone insulation guarantees reliable operation over a wide temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C (flexible from -25°C). The cable is characterized by a rated voltage of 300/500V and has been tested at 2000V, ensuring a high level of safety. Additionally, it meets IEC 60332-1-2 standards for flame propagation resistance and DIN VDE 0482-754-1/DIN EN 60754-1 confirming its halogen-free properties. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 4.4 mm with a conductor cross-section of 4 mm².
Applications and benefits
The SiF silicone cable is distinguished by its high chemical resistance – it is resistant to oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, diluted acids and alkalis, and many other chemicals. This makes it perfect for harsh industrial conditions. The cable's flexibility simplifies installation and routing even in tight spaces. The minimum bending radius is 15x the cable diameter for flexible operation and 6x the diameter for fixed installation. It is recommended to use the cable in ventilated areas during stationary installations due to potential changes in the properties of silicone at temperatures above +90°C.
