Special application silicone cable
This flexible, single-core silicone cable is designed to operate in extreme temperature conditions. It features high heat resistance, both in stationary and dynamic applications. It is an ideal solution where standard cables fail – in the metallurgical, foundry, aviation, shipbuilding, cement and ceramic industries. The halogen-free construction further increases safety, especially in facilities such as power plants.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of multi-strand copper wire class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228), which provides it with high flexibility and resistance to bending. Silicone insulation guarantees a wide operating temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C (flexibly from -25°C). It should be remembered that at temperatures above +90°C, the properties of silicone may gradually change, therefore in stationary installations it is recommended to use it in well-ventilated places. The cable has a rated voltage of 300/500V and has passed tests confirming its flame retardancy (IEC 60332-1-2) and halogen-free properties (DIN VDE 0482-754-1/DIN EN 60754-1/IEC 60754-1).
Applications and benefits
This cable is distinguished by its high chemical resistance – it is resistant to oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, plasticizers, diluted acids and alkalis, and many other chemicals. Thanks to this, it finds application in demanding industrial environments. Its flexibility makes it easy to install even in hard-to-reach places. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 5.5 mm with a conductor cross-section of 6 mm². The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250-1 and 502 standards and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the LVD 2014/35/EU directive.
