Type J thermocouple cable – reliability in temperature measurement
This Type J thermocouple cable, designated JXSiLSi 1x2x1.5, is a key element in measurement systems where precision and resistance to extreme conditions are required. Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction – two strands made of iron-nickel alloy (Fe-CuNi) are insulated with silicone. The silicone insulation provides flexibility and resistance to high temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C in continuous operation. The whole is surrounded by a silicone jacket, which further increases its mechanical strength and resistance to external factors. The outer diameter of the cable is 7.40 mm, and its weight is 0.1155 kg/m.
It is worth noting the operating temperature ranges for the different materials used in the cable: heat-resistant PVC (Yc) from -25°C to +105°C, fluoropolymer FEP (F) from -100°C to +205°C and glass fiber (WS) from -50°C to +400°C. Type J thermocouples according to IEC 584-3 can operate in a temperature range from -40°C to 750°C.
