Thermocouple wire for temperature measurement
This two-wire thermocouple wire, type J, made in silicone, is a reliable solution for precise temperature measurement in a wide range of industrial and laboratory applications. This wire is particularly useful where high temperature resistance and flexibility are required.
Construction and materials
The jxsilsi 2x0.22 wire is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-lasting and trouble-free operation. It consists of the following elements:
- Wires: made of a special alloy of metals – Fe-CuNi, which guarantees the appropriate thermoelectric characteristics.
- Insulation: silicone, providing flexibility and temperature resistance in the range of -60°C to +180°C.
- Braid: no information in the data, but standardly made of tinned steel or copper wires for additional mechanical protection.
- Sheath: silicone, providing additional protection against external factors and high temperatures.
This construction ensures not only durability but also resistance to mechanical and chemical damage.
Application and properties
Thermocouple wire type J is designed to connect a thermocouple to a measuring system. It allows extending the signal from the thermocouple to a safe distance, where appropriate conditions for reading the temperature prevail. Thanks to this, it is possible to monitor the temperature even in extreme conditions – in an aggressive environment, where the temperature exceeds 1000°C.
- Wide temperature range: The wire allows temperature measurement in the range of -40°C to 750°C (according to IEC 584-3).
- Flexibility: Silicone insulation provides high wire flexibility, making it easier to install and route in tight spaces.
- Chemical resistance: The silicone coating protects the wire from the action of many chemicals.
- Expandability: Control wires with PVC or silicone insulation, with a number of cores from 1 to 25 and a core cross-section from 0.5 to 2.5 mm² can be added to selected compensating wires.
- Special construction: It is possible to manufacture wires with a special construction to order.
This wire finds application in many industries, such as: metallurgy, foundry, food industry, energy and research laboratories. It is ideal everywhere where precise temperature measurements are required in difficult conditions.
