Shielded control cable UL Style 2464
This flexible, shielded control cable, manufactured according to UL Style 2464 standard, is a reliable solution for demanding industrial environments and power installations. The cable is characterized by high quality workmanship and resistance to external factors, ensuring safe and efficient transmission of control and power signals.
Construction and properties
The cable consists of six copper conductors twisted in pairs, which minimizes electromagnetic interference. Each conductor is insulated with special PVC, providing flexibility and abrasion resistance. The whole is surrounded by a copper braid screen, which effectively protects against external interference. The outer jacket made of PVC provides additional mechanical and chemical protection. This makes the cable resistant to oils, solvents, acids and alkalis. In addition, the materials used in production are silicone-free, cadmium-free and do not contain substances that hinder painting.
The cable meets the requirements of UL VW-1 and CSA FT1 standards in terms of fire resistance. The flexible construction allows for easy installation and routing in tight spaces. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to +80°C (for fixed installation) and from -10°C to +80°C (for flexible installation). The rated operating voltage is 300V.
Applications and benefits
This cable is ideal for applications requiring high reliability and resistance to interference, such as:
- Machine tools
- Conveyor belts
- Power plant construction
- AC technologies
- Steel production
- Industrial installations
- Control and automation systems
The use of a copper screen minimizes the risk of electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is particularly important in industrial environments exposed to strong electromagnetic fields. For optimal EMC properties, it is recommended to connect the screen with a large contact surface at both ends of the cable – this can be achieved by using a round clamp with a copper braid. The cable complies with Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
