Shielded control cable UL Style 2464

This flexible, shielded control cable UL Style 2464 is designed for use in demanding industrial environments. The twisted pair and shielded braid construction ensures reliable signal transmission and protection against electromagnetic interference. This cable is used in machine tools, conveyor belts, power plant construction, AC technologies and steel production.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction, using stranded bare copper conductors twisted according to ASTM-B 174-95 standard. The wire insulation is made of high-quality PVC, providing flexibility and durability. Pairs of wires are twisted longitudinally to minimize interference, and additionally separated by foil for better insulation. The shield in the form of a tinned copper braid effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The outer jacket made of PVC provides resistance to oils, solvents, acids and alkalis. The materials used in production are silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substance free. The cable passed UL VW-1 and CSA FT1 flame retardant PVC tests.

User parameters and application

The cable has a conductor cross-section of 0.34 mm² and is designed to operate at 300V. The permissible operating temperature is from -20°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -10°C to +80°C (flexible). The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 7.5 mm. The number of wires is 8, arranged in 4 pairs. Thanks to its construction and properties, this cable is ideal for applications requiring flexibility, resistance to external factors and high signal transmission reliability. For optimal EMC function, it is recommended to connect the shield with a large contact area at both ends of the cable – this can be achieved by using a round copper braid clamp at both ends of the cable. The product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
