Single-core halogen-free cable for special applications

This grey, single-core HELUTHERM® 145 cable with a cross-section of 0.34 mm² is a solution designed for safety and reliability in demanding applications. Its construction, based on tinned copper and cross-linked polyolefin copolymer insulation, provides not only flexibility and durability but, above all, resistance to extreme temperatures and limits the spread of fire in the event of a fire. This cable is ideal where standard wiring may fail.

Construction and properties for professionals

The cable is characterized by a class 5 strand (multi-strand flexible), which facilitates installation and ensures good flexibility. The cross-linked polyolefin copolymer insulation provides high resistance to mechanical damage, oils and weathering. Importantly, the materials used in production are silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substance-free. The cable meets stringent safety standards, including fire tests according to DIN VDE 0482-332-3-22 and IEC 60332-3-22. Additionally, it complies with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The rated voltage U0/U is 300/500 V, and can be increased to 600/1000 V when laid in protective conduits. Reduced fire propagation and the absence of toxic fumes in the event of a fire are key features that increase the safety of the installation and users.

Applications and benefits

The HELUTHERM® 145 cable is widely used in the wiring of luminaires, heating devices, electrical machines (temperature class B) and distribution boards. It is particularly recommended for concealed, surface and in-wall installations. Thanks to its resistance to high temperatures (flexibly up to +120°C, permanently up to +145°C), it can be used in harsh working conditions. Its small outer diameter (approx. 1.9 mm) makes it easy to route cables in tight spaces. Additionally, the cable is resistant to UV and ozone radiation, guaranteeing long-term operation even in outdoor conditions. It is worth remembering the possibility of reducing the cable cross-section thanks to its high temperature load capacity – this allows for cost optimization without compromising safety.
