Magnetic filter – protection of installations and equipment

The IFM 20/K magnetic filter with a flanged connection is a reliable solution for water purification in heating, water supply and industrial systems. Its two-stage construction – mechanical and magnetic – effectively removes impurities, protecting pumps, control and measuring fittings, heat meters and other sensitive components of the installation. This filter is particularly recommended for use before magnetizing devices, where ferromagnetic deposits could disrupt their operation.

Construction and operating principle

The operation of IFM filters is based on the combination of mechanical and magnetic filtration. Water flowing through the filter first encounters a magnetic field generated by a set of ferrite magnets. This attracts and captures corrosion products and other ferromagnetic particles. Then, impurities that are not susceptible to the magnetic field are mechanically separated on a filter mesh with a density of 100 to 600 mesh/cm². The body and cover are made of ZL 250 cast iron or Zs 50007 ductile cast iron, which guarantees strength and corrosion resistance. The magnetic insert is placed centrally inside the mesh insert, ensuring optimal filtration efficiency.

Installation and operation – simple solutions for professionals and users

The filter is easy and intuitive to install – simply mount it on the pipeline according to the flow direction arrow on the housing. The filter can be installed both horizontally and vertically. Operation does not require frequent interventions – just periodic cleaning of the mesh and magnetic inserts. After unscrewing the cover, you can easily remove the mesh insert for mechanical cleaning and rinse it under a stream of water. The magnetic insert is cleaned with a brush under a stream of water, avoiding disassembly of its components. Regular cleaning ensures maintaining high filtration efficiency and long device life.
