Fire-resistant power cable – reliability and safety in demanding conditions
This fire-resistant power cable NKGsżo FE180/PH90, manufactured by ZAKŁADY KABLOWE BITNER SP. Z O.O., is an advanced solution designed for applications where maintaining power continuity in the event of a fire is crucial. The cable is designed to provide a high level of safety and reliability for both installers and end-users. Designed to operate in harsh conditions, including mining, it offers effective protection against the effects of fire and ensures the continuity of critical systems.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, using copper conductors with a cross-section of 16 mm². Five cores provide flexibility in installation configuration. Insulation made of special PVC guarantees high resistance to mechanical damage and atmospheric factors. The cable has a yellow outer coating for easy identification. Importantly, the cable meets the PN-EN 60332-3-24 and IEC 60332-3-24 standards, confirming its fire-resistant properties (cable bundle test category C) with an oxygen index above 29. This limits the spread of fire and smoke in the event of a fire.
Application and operating parameters
The NKGsżo FE180/PH90 cable is particularly recommended for use in mining – both surface, open-pit, and underground (explosion hazard class "A" of dust). It will also be useful in other industrial facilities and wherever high fire resistance and maintaining power continuity for a specified time are required. Designed to operate at 0.6/1kV, it withstands a test voltage of 3.5kV. It can be operated at temperatures from -30°C to 70°C, and the minimum permissible laying temperature is -5°C. The bending radius of the cable is 10xØ for mobile receivers and 6xØ for fixed installations. This makes the cable easy to install and adapts to various installation configurations.
