Universal solution for power installations up to 1kV

The YKY power cable with a protective conductor 5x2.5 RE is a professional power cable designed for electricity transmission in installations with voltages up to 1kV. Thanks to its construction based on single-core copper conductors and polyviny chloride (PVC) insulation and sheath, it ensures reliable power supply in various operating conditions.

Construction and materials

The cable utilizes class 1 (RE) round single-core copper conductors in accordance with the EN 60228 standard, which guarantees excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. Each conductor has a cross-section of 2.5 mm² and is insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) type PVC/A according to IEC 60502-1.

The five-core construction includes:

• Protective conductor (PE) in green-yellow for operational safety
• Four working conductors in colors: blue (L), brown (L), black (N), grey (N)

The outer sheath of the cable is made of black UV-resistant PVC, ensuring long-term resistance to atmospheric conditions. The approximate outer diameter is 12.1 mm, and the cable weight is approximately 275 kg/km.

Operating parameters and safety

The cable operates in a wide temperature range: from -30°C to +70°C after installation and from -5°C to +50°C during installation. The maximum conductor temperature during operation is +70°C, and during a short circuit, it can reach +160°C for cross-sections ≤300 mm².

The minimum bending radius in fixed installations is 138 mm (approximately 12×D for multi-core cables). The rated voltage is U0/U = 0.6/1 kV, and the AC 50Hz test voltage for 5 minutes is 4 kV. The conductor resistance at 20°C is 7.41 Ω/km.

Standard packaging includes coils of 50 m or 100 m and drums of 500 m or 1000 m.
