Gas pipe PE100 – reliability and safety in the gas network

The gas pipe made of high-density polyethylene (HD-PE100) is a key element of the gas fuel transmission infrastructure. It is characterized by high resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage, which guarantees long-term and safe operation. It is an ideal solution for both newly built and modernized gas networks.

The pipe with a nominal diameter of DN 400 and an outer diameter of 400 mm, with a wall thickness of 22.8 mm, meets the requirements of PN-EN 1555-2:2021-12. Made of PE-100 material, in orange color, ensures easy identification in the ground. SDR 17.6 is a ratio determining the relationship between the outer diameter and the pipe wall thickness – the higher the SDR, the thinner the wall while maintaining adequate strength. This makes the pipe lightweight and easy to install, yet resistant to operating pressures up to MOP 6 (depending on operating conditions).

PE100 pipes are intended for the construction of gas network installations, transmission of gaseous fuels and other purposes requiring safe transport of medium under pressure. They are particularly recommended for laying in open trenches on a sand bedding, which provides additional protection against mechanical damage.
