Gas pipe PE100 – reliability and safety in the gas network

The gas pipe made of high-density polyethylene (HD-PE100) is a key element of the gas fuel transmission infrastructure. It is characterized by high corrosion resistance and mechanical damage resistance, which guarantees long-lasting and safe operation. It is an ideal solution both for the construction of new installations and for the modernization of existing ones.

The pipe with a diameter of 140 mm and a wall thickness of 8.0 mm, standardized with a SDR17.6 ratio, is intended for underground laying on a sand bedding. Available in a convenient stick length of 12 meters, it facilitates assembly and minimizes the number of welded connections. A distinct orange color of the outer layer ensures easy identification of the pipe during installation work and subsequent operation.

Construction features and application

Made of PE-100 material, the pipe meets strict safety standards regarding the transmission of natural gas. This material provides high resistance to internal pressure and resistance to cracking under stress. These pipes are used in the construction of medium and low-pressure gas networks, as well as in installations transmitting other gaseous media. SDR 17.6 means a relatively thicker wall in relation to the outer diameter, which translates into higher mechanical strength and the ability to work at higher pressures (MOP 6).

PE100 RC (Resistance to Crack) pipes are particularly recommended for areas exposed to external loads or requiring increased resistance to stress cracking. The single-layer construction simplifies the welding process and minimizes the risk of defects in the connections. The length of 12m sections allows for optimal material utilization and reduction of the number of welded connections, which translates into saving time and costs during assembly.
