Screw for thin sheet metal and wood with drill bit 4.2x19 mm WFS /250pcs/ K-SLM3-WFS-4219
Professional solution for fastening thin materials
The Koelner WFS self-drilling screw with a diameter of 4,2 mm and a length of 19 mm is a specialized fastening element designed for the quick and secure joining of thin steel sheets, PVC profiles, and wood-based boards. Thanks to its integrated drill bit, it enables the entire assembly process - from drilling to tightening - in a single working cycle.
Construction and materials
The screw body is made of low-carbon steel subjected to surface hardening, which ensures high mechanical strength during insertion. The hardened thread surface guarantees a durable connection resistant to loosening under the influence of vibrations and operational loads.
The surface is covered with a galvanized coating with a minimum thickness of 5 µm, which effectively protects against corrosion even in outdoor conditions. The product has a fire reaction class A1, which means the material is completely non-combustible.
Application and compatibility
The WFS-4219 screw is designed for fastening elements with a maximum thickness of 4 mm to steel substrates with a thickness from 0,75 mm and PVC profiles with a minimum thickness of 3 mm. It is used for:
- Thin metal sheet elements to steel surfaces
- PVC profiles for load-bearing structures
- Chipboards and wood-based materials
- Lightweight metal structures and cladding
The maximum material thickness that the drill bit can penetrate is 2,5 mm, allowing for secure fastening even of multi-layer connections.
Operating parameters and safety
Installation should be performed using a screwdriver with a rotational speed of 1600-2000 rpm equipped with adjustable torque or a depth limiter. It is crucial to maintain a right angle (90°) relative to the fastened surface and to use low initial speeds with a gradual reduction in speed during the final tightening phase.
For installation, the use of a magnetic bit ensuring stable guidance of the element is recommended. The use of a standard drill is prohibited, as it may damage the thread or cause the head to crack.
Compliance and certificates
The product meets the requirements of the PN-EN 14566+A1:2012 standard regarding fastening elements for gypsum plasterboards and has the declaration of performance DoP-EN14566. The bending strength meets the requirements of class "10" according to European standards.
The minimum embedding depth for different substrates is as follows: for PVC profiles - any depth, for steel - any depth, for wood - minimum 20 mm. The minimum spacing between fastening points is 30 mm, and the minimum distance from the edge of the element is also 30 mm.
The package contains 250 pieces of elements placed in a practical plastic packaging that facilitates storage and transport to the construction site.
