Structural wood screw 8.0x140mm washer head, TX /50pkg/ CS-8140
Hardened structural wood screws
The CS-8140 structural screw is a hardened, high-strength component designed specifically for fastening wooden structures. With a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 140 mm, it is intended for roof trusses and building structural frames.
The 21 mm diameter washer head prevents the screw from pulling through while increasing the clamping surface area on the fastened element. The partial thread geometry with a length of 80 mm enables effective clamping of elements, and the wax coating on the ribbed thread facilitates installation.
Materials and protective coating
The screw is made of hardened low-carbon steel, which guarantees high mechanical strength and resistance to deformation during assembly. The surface is coated with electro-galvanized zinc with a thickness of approximately 8 μm, available in yellow or white passivation.
This coating protects against corrosion even in outdoor conditions, extending the service life of structural connections. The product meets the requirements of the PN-EN 14592:2008+A1:2012 standard, confirming its suitability for structural applications.
Practical applications
The screw is recommended for fastening wooden structural elements—from roof trusses to building frames. It is particularly used for connecting rafters to purlins and for fastening chipboard and layered boards.
The drill milling cutter reduces the risk of wood splitting during installation, which is crucial when working with solid or veneered glued material.
Installation system and compatibility
The Torx TX40 drive eliminates the problem of bit cam-out during work thanks to a special tip structure that facilitates screw grip. The TX40 mounting tip requires the use of an appropriate T40 Torx bit.
In most cases, there is no need for pre-drilling—the milling tip creates the pilot hole itself. Screws should be installed perpendicular to the substrate until the head is fully flush with the surface of the fastened element.
The choice of length should take into account the thickness of the fastened element—the maximum effective length is approximately 60 mm with a total screw length of 140 mm.
