Hardened structural screws for fastening wooden elements
CS structural screws are hardened, high-strength components designed for fastening wooden structures. Thanks to their special thread geometry and wax coating, installation is smooth and efficient.
Construction and materials
The product is made of hardened steel with high mechanical strength. The surface is coated with electrogalvanized zinc with yellow or white passivation, providing basic corrosion protection for dry environments. A diameter of 8 mm and a length of 220 mm make it suitable for heavy structural connections.
The 15 mm wide washer head significantly increases the clamping area, ensuring high pull-through resistance and effective tightening of the connection. The deep and stable TORX T40 socket guarantees optimal torque transfer without bit cam-out.
Thread geometry and installation features
A partial thread with a length of 80 mm ensures effective clamping of elements and a stable connection. The drill point located at the tip reduces the risk of wood splitting during insertion, eliminating the need for pre-drilling in most cases.
The ribbed thread surface coated with a technological wax layer significantly reduces friction during installation, facilitating driving even into hard wood species.
Applications in roofing and structures
The screws find wide application in connecting rafters to purlins and in the assembly of roof trusses. They are also effective for fastening wooden structural elements such as angled beams or posts with foundation anchors.
They are used for fastening wooden structural elements as well as securing chipboard and layered boards. They fully replace construction nails while maintaining significantly higher connection strength.
Operating parameters and installation
The maximum effective length is 140 mm, which should be taken into account when selecting the length relative to the thickness of the element being fastened. Driving should be performed perpendicular to the surface until the head is fully flush with the material surface.
A Torx T40 bit suitable for the Ø8 mm diameter is required for installation. The product is available in individual packs of 50 pieces (2.6 kg) and larger bulk packs on pallets (4800 pieces).
