Structural wood screw 8.0x260mm washer head, TX /50pkg/ CS-8260
Hardened structural wood screws
The CS-8260 structural screw is a hardened, high-strength component designed specifically for fastening wooden structures. With a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 260 mm, it excels in the most demanding carpentry and construction applications.
Construction and materials
The screw body is made of low-carbon hardened steel, guaranteeing an optimal balance between strength and flexibility. The surface is coated with electro-galvanized zinc with yellow or white passivation, providing effective corrosion protection even in harsh weather conditions.
The washer head with a diameter of 22 mm significantly increases the clamping surface area compared to standard countersunk heads. This feature translates to higher pull-through resistance and better distribution of forces acting on the fastened element. The special head geometry ensures stable seating without the risk of "pulling out" from soft wood.
Threading system and installation
The partial thread, approximately 80 mm in length, is designed to provide optimal clamping pressure of the fastened elements. The ribbed thread surface, coated with a special wax layer, significantly reduces friction during driving, resulting in easier installation and lower energy consumption.
The drill point located at the end of the thread eliminates the need for pre-drilling holes and reduces the risk of wood splitting during assembly.
Professional application
These screws find wide application in creating roof trusses—especially when joining rafters to purlins and fastening roof battens. They are also effective for installing chipboard and layered boards, as well as the construction of gazebos, pergolas, and fences.
The TX40 drive system guarantees optimal torque transfer without the risk of the bit "camming out" during work. This solution is particularly valued by professional carpenters working with large timber sections.
Operating parameters and compatibility
The screw is compatible with all types of structural wood—from solid and glulam to modern materials such as X-LAM or LVL. The use of Torx T40 bits suitable for the Ø8 mm diameter is recommended.
Installation should be performed perpendicular to the substrate until the head is fully flush with the surface of the fastened element. In most cases, there is no need for pre-drilling pilot holes.
Compliance and standards
The product meets the requirements of the PN-EN 14592:2008+A1:2012 standard regarding fasteners for timber structures. Each package contains a declaration of performance confirming the technical parameters and intended use of the product.
The unit package contains 50 screws with a total weight of approximately 2.9 kg, making it a practical solution for both small workshops and large construction sites.
