Hardened structural wood screws

CS structural screws are hardened, high-strength components designed for fastening wooden structures. The CS-8280 model with a diameter of 8mm and a length of 280mm serves as a universal solution for professionals and DIY enthusiasts performing connections in roof trusses, structural frames, and finishing works.

Construction and materials

The screw is made of low-carbon hardened steel. The material has undergone a hardening process to increase resistance to shearing during assembly and operation. The surface is coated with electrogalvanized zinc with yellow or white passivation to protect against corrosion.

The special thread geometry includes cutting notches that slice through the wood structure fibers during insertion, as well as a special tip to facilitate the start of assembly. A partial thread with a length of 80mm ensures pressure on the connected elements without the risk of splitting them.

Assembly system and ergonomics

The washer head with a diameter of 20-22mm increases the pressure surface, ensuring high pull-through resistance and sealing the connection. The deep TORX TX40 socket transfers torque without the bit cam-out effect.

The countersink expands the hole in the fastened element, reducing the torque required for driving and the risk of cracking even hard wood species. A special wax coating applied during the production process reduces the torque needed for assembly, which is crucial when working with battery-powered tools.

Professional applications

The screws are ideal for fastening roof truss elements—connecting rafters to purlins, as well as counter-battens and battens. They are used in the construction of structural frames for residential buildings. They effectively fasten wood-based boards and layered materials used in finishing attics and wooden floors.

In the garden and recreational sector, they allow for the construction of gazebos, pergolas, pavilions, and fences. The high torque capacity enables installation without pre-drilling, even in hard wood species.
