The 16 AX two-way switch from the Simon 54 series in matte gold is a professional solution for lighting control in stairwell configurations. The device operates at a rated voltage of 250 V and utilizes a modern screw terminal, ensuring secure connections for installation wires.

Construction and materials

The mechanism is made of advanced plastic with refining and anti-static additives, which guarantees color durability and resistance to environmental conditions. The surface is finished using lacquering technology, providing an elegant appearance and ease of cleaning.

The design features a small mechanism, which leaves more space in the installation box (mounting depth of only 28 mm). The base element is equipped with a central cover plate, and the entire unit is manufactured as a base element without additional modules.

Installation and compatibility

Installation takes place in a flush-mounted system, and a specially designed bridge allows for precise mechanism positioning thanks to level-aligned brackets. The metal fastening presses the frame against the bridge, effectively hiding any installation box mounting imperfections.

Base protrusions help maintain the vertical or horizontal alignment of multi-gang sets, and universal multi-gang frames are designed for both vertical and horizontal configurations. A particular advantage is the possibility of mounting without boxes thanks to special holes that allow the bridge to be screwed directly to a wooden surface.

Safety and compliance

The switch meets European standard requirements regarding electrical safety. The design is intended for operation in circuits with a switching current up to 16 A, making it suitable for both standard bulbs and LED lamps.

The system is prepared for an IP 44 version - simply add a gasket to achieve full protection against dust and water droplets. A recess on the body defines the optimal wire stripping length, and the busbar shroud minimizes the risk of electric shock even after the socket covers are removed.
