Aesthetic Corner Finishing for Cable Ducts

The KOPOS LHD 50×20 external corner cover is used to aesthetically close the external corners when routing electrical installations in square cable ducts of the LHD series. It aligns the connections at the junctions of walls and ceilings, creating a smooth transition without protruding edges – particularly important for visible cable runs in offices, commercial premises, and public buildings.

It is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in white RAL 9003. The material maintains dimensional stability at temperatures from -5 to +60 °C, allowing for installation in both heated and cooler areas of the building. Its light weight of just 16 g means it does not put undue stress on the duct structure.

Installation is snap-on – simply slide the cover onto the clips and snap it into place. Removal is also tool-free, allowing quick access to the inside of the duct for any modifications to the installation.

Compatibility and Application

The cover is designed for LHD 50×20, LHD 50×20/1 (with one partition), and LHD 50×20/2 (with two partitions) cable ducts from the LH series. The internal cross-section of the duct is 770 mm², allowing for the routing of low-voltage and telecommunications wiring – from telecommunications lines to lighting circuits.

The model has antibacterial properties, making it suitable for medical facilities and facilities requiring higher hygiene standards. Chemical resistance includes, among others, 25% ammonia, 50% ethanol, 5% acetic acid, transformer oil, and kerosene – a list of aggressive substances can be found in the manufacturer's technical data sheet.

Standards, Protective Parameters, and Operating Conditions

The product meets the requirements of the ČSN EN 50085-1 standard (cable management systems for power cables) and ČSN EN 50085-2-1 for trunking profiles. The IP40 protection rating protects against solid objects larger than 1 mm – sufficient for indoor use. The impact resistance of IK06 confirms its resistance to impacts with an energy of up to 0.5 J.

The LHD series ducts have a fire reaction class of A1-F, the self-ignition time does not exceed 30 seconds, and the glow wire test withstands a temperature of 850 °C. The trunking can be used with base materials with a flammability class of up to C3 – which expands the application possibilities compared to more restrictive systems.

For the end-user, it is also important to note that there is no protective film – the cover is supplied without an additional protective layer, so it presents its final appearance immediately after installation.
