Cast iron curb-and-road inlet WKJ H250

The WKJ H250 cast iron curb-and-road inlet is a robust road infrastructure element designed for the effective drainage of rainwater from roadways, sidewalks, and paved surfaces. It is made of cast iron in an unpainted (raw) version.

Construction and technical parameters

The rectangular design of the inlet, with dimensions of 59.4 × 47 × 22 cm and a weight of 6.2 kg, has been adapted for operation in load class D400 (40 tons) in accordance with the EN 124 standard. This load capacity guarantees safe use even during the passage of heavy delivery vehicles and trucks.

The design was developed with the aim of minimizing the risk of vehicle impact, while simultaneously maintaining a large inlet area for efficient water drainage. The inlet is compatible with D1 and C3 type silt baskets, allowing for the creation of a comprehensive drainage system.

Application and installation compatibility

In accordance with the PN-EN 124-2 Group 4 standard, the inlet is suitable for use on road carriageways (including pedestrian-vehicle paths), paved shoulders, and parking areas. It is intended for all types of road vehicles.

A key design feature is its adaptation for installation in 120/150 mm high curbs, which significantly facilitates installation and ensures aesthetic integration into existing urban infrastructure. This installation flexibility allows the inlet to be used both when modernizing existing drainage systems and when constructing new roads.

The cast iron construction is characterized by a natural patina that protects the material from corrosion.

The large inlet area translates to high water drainage efficiency, even during intense rainfall. At the same time, the design minimizes the risk of vehicle damage caused by sharp edges or irregularities.
