Ethernet cable ETHERLINE® Cat. 6A P, 48 V, PUR, shielded, UV resistant, 2170465
Professional cabling for industrial Ethernet networks
Cat.6A category cables form the basis of modern industrial installations, where reliable data transmission is required at speeds up to 10 Gbit/s with a bandwidth of 500 MHz. The ETHERLINE® Cat.6A P model features an S/FTP construction - each pair of conductors has its own aluminum foil shield, and the whole is additionally protected by a tinned copper braid (~85% coverage). This solution effectively suppresses electromagnetic interference (EMI), which is crucial in industrial environments with motors, frequency converters, and other noise sources.
Construction and materials
The cable is made of bare copper in a single-wire class (AWG 22 / cross-section 0.34 mm²), ensuring the electrical stability required in PROFINET type A fixed installations. The core insulation is foamed polyolefin, and color identification includes four pairs according to the white-blue, white-orange, white-green, and white-brown standard.
The outer sheath made of polyurethane (PUR) gives the cable mechanical strength - it is resistant to abrasion, mineral oils (EN 50363-10-2), and UV radiation (ISO 4892-2). Unlike cheaper PVC alternatives, PUR performs well in harsh conditions: the cable is not afraid of damp rooms or periodic exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Geometric parameters: outer diameter 8.7 mm, weight 91 kg/km, minimum bending radius for fixed installation is 90 mm (10 × diameter). The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +80°C, so the cable will perform well in both cold storage and near heat-generating machinery.
Applications and compatibility
The cable is dedicated to PROFINET networks in type A applications - i.e., stationary connections between PLC controllers and field devices. It also supports EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP protocols, which dominate industrial automation.
An important feature is support for Power over Ethernet - PoE (IEEE 802.3af), PoE+ (802.3at), and PPoE (802.3bt) standards allow transmitting data and power through a single cable, simplifying the installation of IP cameras, operator terminals, or IoT sensors.
A characteristic impedance of 100 Ω ensures compliance with IEC 61156-5 and EN 50288-10-1 transmission standards for category 6A - the cable meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 11801 and EN 50173 standards regarding structured cabling.
Safety and standards
The cable is halogen-free according to VDE 0472-815 - in case of fire, it does not emit corrosive gases, which is important in facilities with higher fire safety requirements. It maintains flame retardancy according to IEC 60332-1-2 - it does not spread flame along the surface.
The cable complies with the RoHS directive (2011/65/EU) and the LV-Directive (2014/35/EU), and its operating voltage is max. 100 V AC/DC at the operating frequency - it is not intended for power applications.
