Flexible rubber cable for demanding industrial installations

The presented cable is an improved version of the popular H07RN-F standard, designed for tougher operating conditions than classic equivalents. Unlike the basic H07RN-F or H07ZZ-F, this version offers a wider operating temperature range, better water resistance, and the ability for long-term immersion at depths of up to 100 m (AD8 designation) - which opens up entirely new application possibilities.

The construction is based on three multi-wire copper cores of class 5 (flexible) with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², ensuring easy cable routing even in tight cable paths. Core identification is color-coded according to the HD 308 S2 standard - the installer immediately recognizes the wires without the need for additional marking. The yellow-green protective core is factory-built-in (G designation), so it does not need to be selected separately.

The core insulation is made of special EPR rubber, and the outer sheath is made of a flame-retardant rubber mixture - both layers are halogen-free according to EN 60754 (parts 1 and 2). In practice, this means that in the event of a fire, the cable does not emit corrosive gases or dense smoke - which is significant in buildings with a high concentration of people, animals, or valuable objects.

Chemical and environmental resistance

The cable demonstrates oil resistance confirmed by the EN 60811-404 standard, good abrasion resistance, and effectively handles atmospheric substances, fats, and lubricating oils. It is also resistant to ozone action and UV radiation - ensuring it does not degrade under intense sunlight or variable weather conditions.

These features make it suitable for both construction sites, industrial halls, and photovoltaic installations. Compared to the standard H07RN-F or H07RN8-F, it offers clearly better water resistance - it can work underwater for long periods without losing parameters.

Operating temperature range

The operating temperature of the core is from -50°C to +90°C for fixed installation and from -40°C to +90°C for flexible connections and occasional bending. For twisting (wind turbine application), the range is from -40°C to +90°C, with the cable withstanding up to 5000 twisting cycles at an angle of ±150° per minute - provided that the ambient temperature is at least +5°C.

The minimum bending radius for flexible installation is 6 × outer diameter (~71.4 mm), and for fixed installation - 4 × outer diameter (~47.6 mm). The outer diameter is approximately 11.9 mm, and the weight is approximately 172 kg/km.

Applications and standards

The cable is intended for powering mobile and portable electrical loads in both households and industry - machines, power tools, generators, or temporary lighting. It can be used as:

• a power cable for wind turbines (mounted in a cable loop hanging between the rotating nacelle and the tower),
• an outdoor installation exposed to UV and variable weather conditions,
• power supply for portable devices on construction sites,
• electrical connections where resistance to oils and moisture is required,
• installations requiring low smoke emission - production halls, public utility buildings.

Single-core cables can also be used as part of an installation resistant to short circuits and earth faults according to IEC 60364-5-52 / HD 60364-5-52 / VDE 0100 Part 520. The nominal voltage is U₀/U: 450/750 V, and the test voltage is 2500 V AC. The product has the type certificate according to EN 50525-2-21 and meets the Eca fire classification requirements (EN 13501-6).
