DPX³ 160 Power Switch – Reliable Installation Protection

The DPX³ 160 power switch is an advanced solution for protecting electrical circuits, designed for use in both commercial and industrial construction. It provides effective protection against overloads and short circuits, guaranteeing the safety of the installation and equipment. The device's design allows for mounting on a TH35 rail, making installation and integration with existing systems easier.

Functionality and parameters

This four-pole switch with a rated current of 125A and a short-circuit breaking capacity of 36kA at 400V, 50Hz, is designed to operate in networks with a rated voltage from 220 to 690V. It is equipped with a thermal-magnetic trip unit with adjustable overload range (100…125A), allowing for precise adjustment to the specifics of the protected circuit. The trip unit characteristic enables a quick response to short circuits, while also allowing tolerance for short-term current surges, typical for example when starting motors. It also has a built-in undervoltage release.

The switch has one changeover auxiliary contact and one normally open contact, which expands its functionality and allows integration with control and signaling systems. Screw terminals ensure a solid and secure connection of wires with a cross-section of up to 70mm² (stranded) or 95mm² (solid). The IP30 protection degree protects against contact and ensures safe operation under normal operating conditions.

Installation and application

The switch is mounted on a TH35 rail – a standard in most electrical distribution boards. This makes replacing or adding protection quick and easy. The ability to mount additional functional modules (DPX…3) allows you to expand the functionality of the switch, adapting it to the individual needs of the installation. The tripping indicator facilitates diagnosis of problems with the electrical installation. The device is adapted to work with an optional motor drive, which may be useful in applications requiring remote control or automation.
