What is this switch used for?

It is a component of a va-et-vient system – it allows you to control the same lighting from three different locations. If you already have two switches at the beginning and end of a hallway, and this cross-switch in the middle, you can turn the light on or off from any point – without needing to go back.

There are no buttons, backlighting, or indicators here. It is pure mechanical functionality: one lever, a rocking button. Simple. Reliable. No unnecessary features.

How is it installed and what do you need to know before installation?

Installation is flush-mounted – inside a junction box, like most accessories in modern installations. It requires a junction box depth of at least 30 mm – this is the minimum value. The mechanism itself has a depth of 38 mm – so check that the box is not too shallow.

The terminals are automatic – no tool is required. Insert the wire and it locks in automatically. This means: less installation time, reduced risk of improper tightening, and better connection repeatability. For the installer – it's an advantage: faster work, safer connections.

There is no mounting plate – you must secure it to a standard modular holder, e.g., Batibox. It is not a ready-made block – it is a component to be completed with a frame and a key.

What is important from a safety and compliance perspective?

• Halogen-free – they do not emit harmful gases when heated, which is important in enclosed spaces.
• IP21 – protection against finger contact and vertically falling water droplets. Suitable only for indoor use.
• IK04 – impact resistance with an energy of 0.5 J (e.g., light impact with a tool). Sufficient for homes or offices.
• 250 V / 10 A – standard rating for lighting and small devices. Not suitable for motors or heaters.
• Material: thermoplastic, matte finish, color close to RAL 7016 (anthracite grey) – compatible with most Céliane frames.

There is no compatibility with smart systems – Alexa, HomeKit, Google Assistant? No. And this is not a mistake. This is not an IoT device. It is pure electrical wiring.

Why choose this specific model?

Because it has worked properly for years. There are no "smart" functions here that could break. Lack of backlighting? Not an issue – since this switch serves as an intermediate component in a three-point circuit, not as a main switch.
