The 044214 transformer is a single-phase industrial-grade device that serves a dual function as a safety and isolation transformer. Specifically designed to power 24V voltage control circuits, it is a key component in electrical installations requiring the highest safety standards.

Electrical and design parameters

The device offers six primary voltage ranges: 215V, 230V, 245V, 385V, 400V, and 415V, allowing for flexible adaptation to various power systems. The secondary voltage is stabilized at 24V AC, ensuring constant operating conditions for connected loads.

The rated apparent power is 160 VA, guaranteeing sufficient performance for most control applications. A relative short-circuit voltage of 7.4% indicates good voltage stabilization under load and limitation of short-circuit currents.

The transformer utilizes insulation class B according to the IEC 85 standard, which translates to a maximum winding operating temperature of up to 130°C. The compact design with dimensions of 94×112×113 mm has been optimized for power density while maintaining adequate cooling.

Modular mounting and installation compatibility

The device is designed as a modular solution for DIN rail mounting, which significantly simplifies installation in electrical switchboards. The design is not intended for PCB or plate mounting, eliminating the need for additional mounting elements.

Electrical connections are made via screw terminals, ensuring a secure and durable connection for wires of various cross-sections. The terminal marking system facilitates correct installation and maintenance.

The enclosure protection rating IP2X protects against finger access to hazardous parts and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12mm. The IK04 mechanical impact resistance class guarantees protection against impacts with energy up to 0.5 J.

Operational safety and limitations

The transformer meets the requirements as both a safety and isolation device, providing galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits. This dual functionality eliminates the need for additional isolation transformers in systems requiring both solutions.

Important limitation: the device does not have internal protection against the effects of short circuits in the secondary circuit. Therefore, external protection of the secondary circuit using appropriate circuit breakers or fuses is necessary.

Insulation class B enables operation in a wide range of ambient temperatures while maintaining full electrical efficiency throughout the entire service life.
