The Viking 3 terminal is a three-level solution for electrical connections in industrial installations and automation. Specifically designed for copper conductors with a cross-section of 2,5 mm², it offers a reliable screw connection in a compact housing with a width of 5 mm. The grey color identifies it as a component for standard circuits.

Construction and connection capabilities

The device utilizes a screw connection on all three levels, ensuring stable and durable conductor fastening. Each level features 2 terminal positions, allowing for various installation configurations. The design supports a wide range of conductor types: solid (0,25-4 mm²), stranded without ferrules (0,25-4 mm²), and stranded with ferrules (0,25-2,5 mm²).

The insulating material, made of thermoplastic class V2 according to UL94, provides adequate electrical insulation and resistance to industrial conditions. The device dimensions (67,5 × 84,5 × 5 mm) have been optimized for space-saving in distribution boards.

Operating parameters and safety

A rated current of 24 A at a voltage of 400 V makes this terminal suitable for most automation and control applications. The operating temperature range of -5°C to +40°C ensures reliability in typical industrial conditions.

A special feature is the Ex-e explosion-proof design, confirmed by ATEX and IMQ-CA02.04205 certificates. This solution enables use in explosion hazard zones (Ex-e) where components with increased safety are required.

Mounting and system compatibility

Mounting is performed on a standard TH-35 mm DIN rail, simplifying installation in existing distribution systems. The manufacturer requires the use of a closing plate, which ensures proper enclosure closure and maintains safety parameters.

The system is compatible with three types of symmetrical rails: 15 mm depth, EN60715 7,5 mm depth, and standard 15 mm depth. The end clamp maintains perfect alignment of the blocks on the rail while simultaneously allowing the mounting/dismounting of a single element without the need to dismantle adjacent blocks.

It is particularly useful in industrial automation for connecting sensors and their common power supply via special equipotential bars available in the Viking 3 system.
