Overcurrent circuit breaker, 6kA BKJ63Nd series 1P 13A characteristic C BKJ63Nd 1P C13 BKJ63ND 1P C13
Overcurrent circuit breaker BKJ63Nd is a safety element protecting the electrical installation against the effects of overloads and short circuits. It belongs to the BKJ63N series, manufactured by LS Electric, and is designed for mounting on a 35mm DIN rail. Thanks to its construction and characteristics, this device finds application both in domestic and industrial installations.
Characteristics and Application
BKJ63Nd 1P circuit breaker with a rated current of 13A and C characteristic provides effective protection of electrical circuits. Characteristic C means that the circuit breaker reacts more slowly to short-term current surges – which is particularly important when connecting receivers with electric motors or other devices generating high starting currents. This minimizes the risk of unnecessary tripping of the circuit when starting such devices. The application of this type of circuit breakers includes protection of lighting, socket outlets and other electrical devices with moderate power consumption.
Construction and Parameters
The circuit breaker has been designed with easy installation and safe operation in mind. It has screw or lug terminals (depending on the version), allowing connection of wires with a cross-section of up to 25mm². The width of a single pole is 17.8mm, which allows for efficient use of space in the switchgear cabinet. The circuit breaker meets the requirements of IEC 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2 standards, which guarantees its reliability and safety of use. Its electrical endurance is 10,000 operating cycles, and mechanical – as many as 20,000 cycles. It is adapted to work at temperatures from -5°C to +40°C.
Key parameters of the circuit breaker include a rated current of 13A, a C characteristic providing protection against overloads and short circuits taking into account inrush currents, and a short-circuit breaking capacity of 6kA at 240/415V AC. The rated voltage of the device is 240/415V AC (for a single pole), and the degree of protection is IP20, guaranteeing safe use. Mounting is done on a standard 35mm DIN rail.
It is worth remembering that choosing the right overcurrent circuit breaker is crucial for the safety of the electrical installation and the people using it. Therefore, circuit breakers should always be selected in accordance with the requirements of standards and the installation specifications.
