Overcurrent circuit breaker BKJ63Nd is a protective element for electrical installations against the effects of overloads and short circuits. It belongs to the BKJ63N series, designed by LS Electric, and is characterized by high reliability and durability. It is a single-pole (1P) circuit breaker with a rated current of 63A and a B characteristic, which means it reacts quickly to current increases, providing effective protection of connected devices.

Characteristics and application

Circuit breakers from the BKJ63Nd series are designed for use in distribution circuits in residential and commercial buildings. The B characteristic makes them particularly recommended for protecting lighting and socket circuits, where there are devices with heating elements or electric motors – i.e. everywhere where short-term current surges may occur during start-up. They not only ensure safety of use, but also help to avoid unplanned downtime of the installation. Mounting is done on a standard 35mm DIN rail, which facilitates and speeds up installation.

Construction and parameters

The construction of the circuit breaker is based on solid materials, which guarantees its long-term operation. It has high resistance to mechanical damage and the influence of atmospheric conditions (operating temperature from -5°C to +40°C). The circuit breaker meets the requirements of IEC 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2 standards, which confirms its compliance with European safety standards. The rated current of 63A allows for protection of circuits with higher power consumption. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity is 6kA at 240/415V AC, which ensures effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a short circuit. The circuit breaker has lug terminals allowing connection of wires with a cross-section of up to 25mm². The electrical life of the circuit breaker is 10,000 cycles, and the mechanical life – as much as 20,000 cycles, which proves its high durability and reliability. The width of a single pole is only 17.8mm, which allows for efficient use of space in the switchgear.
