Overcurrent circuit breakers of the BKJ63Nd series – reliable installation protection
This two-pole BKJ63Nd overcurrent circuit breaker with a rated current of 50A and B characteristic is a key element of every safe electrical installation. It provides effective protection against overloads and short circuits, protecting both devices and users. It is a solid solution for both installers and building owners.
Design and installation
The circuit breaker is designed for mounting on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Its compact width of 17.8mm per pole allows for efficient use of space in the distribution board. Connection of wires is done using lug connectors, accepting wires with a cross-section of up to 25mm². Installation is simple and intuitive, which translates to time savings during installation.
Characteristics and application
Characteristic B means that the circuit breaker reacts quickly to current increase, but is more tolerant to short-term surges than circuit breakers with characteristic C or D. Thanks to this, it is ideally suited for protecting circuits with a resistive nature or with devices generating short-term inrush currents – e.g. lighting, sockets, distribution circuits. It provides protection in accordance with IEC 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2 standards. This circuit breaker withstands 10,000 electrical operating cycles and as many as 20,000 mechanical cycles, which guarantees long-lasting and trouble-free operation. Designed to operate at temperatures from -5°C to +40°C.
The BKJ63Nd 2P 50A circuit breaker is characterized by a rated current of 50A, making it suitable for most standard circuits in residential and commercial buildings. The two-pole design provides protection for two-phase circuits. Characteristic B guarantees a quick response to overloads while maintaining tolerance to short-term current surges. The rated breaking capacity is 6kA at 240/415VAC, ensuring effective disconnection in the event of a short circuit. Connection of wires is done using lug connectors accepting wires with a cross-section of up to 25mm². The IP20 degree of protection protects against finger contact and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm and mounting is done on a standard 35mm DIN rail, which facilitates installation and replacement of the device.
