Power and Precision in Wireless Form
The XGT 40V Max series angle grinder is a device designed for heavy-duty tasks that previously required a power cord. Thanks to its brushless BLDC motor and 40V voltage, this model achieves performance comparable to corded grinders with 1000 W power. This is not just theory – in practice, it translates to 40% higher output power when cutting masonry materials compared to older 18V series. For installers, this means faster work when cutting steel or concrete, while end users benefit from no need to constantly search for an outlet and reduced cable clutter on construction sites.
The device is equipped with two 4.0 Ah batteries and a fast DC40RA charger, enabling nearly uninterrupted operation. The XPT (eXtreme Protection Technology) system provides enhanced resistance to dust and moisture, which is crucial when working in demanding construction conditions. It is worth noting the AFT (Active Feedback sensing Technology), which detects sudden disc jams and immediately cuts off power, protecting the operator from tool kickback. This is a critical safety feature, especially when working with discs of 125 mm diameter.
Ergonomics and Safety in Every Detail
The construction of this grinder has been thoughtfully designed for long-term comfort. The narrow motor housing allows for a secure grip even with work gloves, increasing control over the tool during precise operations. The new disc guard can be mounted without additional tools – simply rotate the lever to adjust it to the desired cutting or grinding angle. This saves time for professionals and offers convenience for every user.
Safety and control are based on several key solutions: the electric brake effectively stops the disc within a few seconds after releasing the switch, shortening the waiting time before safely setting down the tool. The slide-type switch located on top of the housing enables easy on/off operation even with gloves on, and its lock in the "on" position requires a deliberate press. Additionally, the soft-start function prevents sudden current surges at motor startup, reducing the risk of material damage or loss of tool control in the first second of operation.
The rotational speed is adjustable from 3000 to 8500 rpm, providing flexibility for various materials – from delicate grinding of stainless steel to aggressive cutting of concrete. The noise level (81 dB(A) sound pressure) is maintained at an acceptable level for continuous operation, and BLDC technology minimizes energy consumption by eliminating brushes that require replacement.
Application and Starter Kit
This "all-in-one" solution is ideal for woodworking shops, metalworking facilities, and construction sites requiring mobility. The kit includes a complete starter package: the GA005GM201 grinder itself, two 40V Max Li-Ion batteries with 4.0 Ah capacity, and the DC40RA charger. This allows immediate work without the need to purchase additional power components.
The tool supports standard discs with a 125 mm diameter and a 22.23 mm mounting hole, ensuring compatibility with most accessories available on the market. The body weight is only 2.9 kg, significantly facilitating overhead work or operations in hard-to-reach areas without quickly fatiguing the operator's hands. Minor design changes, such as enlarged ball bearings supporting the rotor and a new switch with reduced contact wear, allow the device to operate under high load for extended periods without performance loss. The entire package is housed in a durable Makpac case (included), ensuring safe transport and storage of all XGT system components.
