The cordless router-trimmer DRT52SF is a tool that eliminates the need to drag extension cords while maintaining the power characteristic of corded models. Thanks to the brushless BLDC motor, the device achieves a rotational speed of 30 000 rpm, allowing for clean and precise cutting even of harder wood species or veneers. The lightweight construction (only 0.95 kg without battery) makes the tool ideal for finishing work, where control over movement and minimizing operator fatigue during long assembly sessions are crucial.

Functionality and work safety

The device was designed with convenience in mind for both the workshop and the construction site. The depth adjustment mechanism with a gear transmission (gear and screw) enables precise setting of the bevel depth with accuracy down to a fraction of a millimeter – from 0 to 42 mm. The set includes parallel and contour guides, opening up possibilities for performing repeatable cuts along edges or around irregular shapes.

Two key functions ensure user safety:

• Soft Start: The motor does not generate a sudden jerk at startup, which increases control over the tool and protects the material from damage at the moment of activation.
• Anti-restart: After a power failure or device shutdown, the router will not start automatically when power is restored – this requires pressing the switch again.

Additionally, an LED indicator informs about the status of the switch lock, providing a clear signal when the tool is ready for operation. The casing made of plastic and the plastic base plate protect the workpiece from scratches.

Resistance to external conditions and set completeness

XPT (X-Protect Technology) increases the device's resistance to dust and moisture, which is crucial when working in more difficult construction conditions or during sanding of materials generating a lot of dust. The tool is compatible with collets with a diameter of 6 mm (reducing sleeve included in the set), covering most standard router bits available on the market.

The starter kit is complete and ready for immediate use – it includes an 18V Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 3.0Ah (BL1830B) along with the DC18SD fast charger. For precise tool guidance, a trimmer guide and a parallel guide are included, as well as a template guide and a suction nozzle allowing connection to a vacuum cleaner. The package also includes the necessary hex keys (10 mm and 17 mm).

It is worth remembering that the device is not compatible with the lightest LXT series batteries (e.g., BL1815G), which lack protective electronics – cells with a capacity of at least 1.5 Ah should be used (models from 3 Ah upwards are recommended to maintain stable power).

This tool is an excellent alternative to traditional corded models, offering freedom of movement without loss of cutting performance. Thanks to compact dimensions (134 x 90 x 220 mm), it easily fits in any tool box or transport case. The high rotational speed guarantees a smooth surface finish when routing veneers, and the large stroke depth allows for grooves of varying depths in a single pass or routing through thin materials to full thickness. Low noise and vibration levels contribute to comfort during extended work periods.
