2-speed impact drill-driver 18 V LXT BLDC DHP490Z
Versatile control in challenging conditions
This tool combines drilling, screwdriving, and hammer drilling functions, making it a universal solution for assembly work and material processing. Thanks to the brushless BLDC motor, the device offers higher performance with lower energy consumption, resulting in longer runtime on a single battery charge. This motor is also more resistant to mechanical wear, as the absence of brushes eliminates friction and sparking, increasing the overall tool lifespan. The compact housing, measuring only 172 mm in length, allows for free operation in tight spaces where larger models might be inconvenient or impossible to use.
Precision is key when working with various materials, which is why this model is equipped with 20-step torque adjustment. Setting the appropriate level of twisting force prevents damage to screw heads or cracking of brittle materials. The maximum torque of up to 65 Nm (in hard mode) ensures a secure grip even when mounting large structural elements. Two working gears are available:
- Low gear: up to 500 rpm – ideal for driving large screws and drilling in hard materials where high force is required.
- High gear: up to 1900 rpm – designed for fast drilling of holes in wood or metal and precise tightening of smaller components.
Application and ergonomics
The drill/screwdriver was designed with professionals working in diverse environmental conditions in mind. XPT (Extreme Protection Technology) increases the device's resistance to dust and moisture, allowing for safe operation even on construction sites with harsh atmospheric conditions or significant wood/metal dust. The keyless chuck enables rapid accessory changes without the need for additional keys – simply press or loosen the chuck by hand.
Work area illumination is provided by built-in LEDs with pre-glow (illumination before starting work) and after-glow (illumination after finishing) functions. This allows the user to see exactly where they are drilling or screwing even in poor ambient lighting, and after setting the tool down, they can check the quality of the connection without needing to find another light source. Smooth speed regulation via the trigger switch gives full control over the work pace – from very slow starts for precision to full power when drilling through holes.
System compatibility and operational performance
The device operates on the 18V LXT battery system, meaning full compatibility with a wide range of Li-ion batteries with capacities from 1.5 Ah to 12 Ah. Choosing the appropriate cell allows the tool's weight to be adapted to the specific task – lighter batteries facilitate overhead work, while higher capacities extend continuous operation time. The weight of the tool itself (without battery) is only 1.1 kg, significantly reducing operator fatigue during long shifts.
Drilling performance is tailored to the requirements of various materials: when working with steel, the tool creates holes up to 13 mm in diameter, sufficient for most assembly work in steel profiles. In wood, it achieves significantly greater capabilities, allowing for drilling holes up to 38 mm in diameter, ideal for processing structural beams and chipboard. For cutting holes for sockets or installation pipes, hole saws up to 51 mm in diameter can be used. The hammering frequency is adjustable depending on the gear: on high gear, it reaches up to 28 500 bpm (blows per minute), facilitating the breaking of brick or lightweight concrete, while on low gear, it reaches a maximum of 7 500 bpm (blows per minute), ensuring precision with harder materials.
Thanks to this set of parameters, the tool is suitable for both minor home repairs and intensive installation or carpentry work. The lack of a power cord provides full mobility on the construction site or in the workshop, and the highbuild quality guarantees reliability through many years of intensive use.
