Sanding plaster on ceilings or in hard-to-reach areas becomes effortless thanks to a battery-powered solution that eliminates the need to drag long power cords. The device is built on the 18 V LXT platform, allowing free movement around the construction site without limitations imposed by the availability of electrical outlets. A key structural element is the telescopic tube, adjustable within a range of 0 to 420 mm. This enables the user to adapt the tool length to their own height and the specific room conditions, maintaining a comfortable posture while working overhead. If needed, an additional extension handle can be mounted, increasing the total device length up to 2100 mm, allowing access to the farthest corners of large halls or high rooms.

Intelligent Dust Management and Performance

One of the biggest challenges when sanding plaster is the enormous amount of dust, which not only dirties the surroundings but can also damage the tool's motor. This device solves this problem with the AWS (Auto-start Wireless System). After installing the wireless communication module, the sander communicates with a Makita vacuum cleaner via Bluetooth®. In practice, this means the vacuum cleaner starts automatically when the sander is switched on and shuts off when the sander stops—no manual control of the second device is required. The redesigned head ensures even more effective dust extraction directly from the sanding zone. Additionally, the front protective brush can be removed, facilitating work in the immediate vicinity of wall edges or corners where standard guards might be obstructive.

Working Comfort and Parameter Flexibility

The BLDC brushless motor not only extends runtime on a single battery charge but also enhances tool durability by eliminating the need for carbon brush replacement. Rotational speed is smoothly adjustable via a dial from 1000 to 1800 rpm, allowing adaptation to the type of abrasive paper used and the hardness of the surface being sanded. The soft-start function prevents sudden current surges at startup, increasing safety and control over the tool during activation. An integrated LED indicator signals potential motor overload or overheating, giving the user time to react before a more serious malfunction occurs. The construction is further protected by XPT (Xtreme Protection Technology), which increases the power tool's resistance to dust and moisture—crucial for finishing work in new buildings.

The kit includes a soft sanding pad with a diameter of 210 mm (compatible with 225 mm abrasive paper), which conforms well to surface irregularities of plaster, ensuring uniform material removal without the risk of deep scratches. Please note that the device is sold as a "body" only—it does not include batteries or a charger in the standard packaging; Li-Ion batteries with a capacity of 1.5 Ah or higher are required (except for models without electronics and very thin cells BL1815). The total weight ranges from 4.6 kg (without battery) to approximately 5 kg with a battery, which, when used with the telescopic tube, allows for prolonged work without excessive strain on the operator's wrists.
