PVC-C Pipes – Durable and Versatile Solution for Water Installations
FlowGuard PVC-C pipes, manufactured by NIBCO, are technologically advanced installation elements designed for hot and cold water distribution systems, as well as industrial installations. They are characterized by exceptional durability, chemical resistance and ease of installation, making them an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users. This system is available in various diameters and configurations, allowing adaptation to the specific needs of each project.
Features and Benefits of the PVC-C System
The FlowGuard system stands out with a number of features that guarantee the reliability and longevity of the installation:
- Exceptional durability: PVC-C material ensures a minimum of 50 years of trouble-free operation, which translates into long-term savings.
- Chemical resistance: The pipes are resistant to the action of several hundred chemical compounds, allowing their use in various industrial environments.
- No corrosion: The material does not corrode, eliminating the risk of water contamination and damage to the installation.
- Biological inertness: The pipes are physiologically and microbiologically inert, ensuring safety for user health.
- Easy installation: Solvent welding connections (cold welding) are quick, simple and do not require specialized tools or energy sources. Connection time does not exceed one minute at the appropriate ambient temperature.
- Low thermal conductivity: Reduces heat loss in hot water installations, reducing operating costs.
- Damping properties: The pipes dampen vibrations and noise, ensuring quiet operation of the installation.
- Lightweight: Compared to traditional materials (steel or copper), PVC-C pipes are much lighter, making them easier to transport and install.
- Smooth inner surface: Reduces water flow resistance, allowing the use of smaller pipe diameters without loss of efficiency.
- Fire safety: The material does not support combustion and is characterized by high fire resistance.
Applications and Compatibility
FlowGuard PVC-C pipes are widely used in:
- Hot and cold water installations in residential and commercial buildings.
- Air conditioning and refrigeration installations.
- Industrial installations for the transport of various chemical compounds.
This system is compatible with other installation elements thanks to the availability of threaded and flanged elements allowing connection with various systems. Pipes are available in a cal system (CTS) corresponding to the dimensions of copper pipes and in an IPS system (Sch 40) corresponding to steel pipes. Pipes up to 2” are produced in beige color (CTS system), and above 2” – in gray color (IPS system).
